P2P: de enemigo a socio en unos días
Warner Bros. junto con avato mobile (de Bertelsmann) pretende vender películas y series en Europa por Internet usando redes P2P a través de un servicio llamado In2Movies. En un principio ofrecerá unas 80 (como Batman Begins, Charlie y la Fábrica de Chocolate, Harry Potter, Friends, etc). El servicio estará disponible en Alemania, Austria, y parte de Suiza.
Tan solo hace unos días los representantes de la MPAA, en Cannes, lanzaban fuego por la boca al hablar de las redes P2P. De enemigo a socio en unos días. -¿Hipócritas, cretinos, ignorantes, o simplemente esquizofrénicos?
Creo que de igorantes tienen un rato, pues no entienden que el verdadero poder de la red es el de la diversidad (y ofrecen lo de siempre), el de la ubicuidad (y lo ofrecen sólo en determinados territorios), y el del coste que tiende a cero (y lo ofrecen con la fórmula tradicional de “pay per view” en vez de las docenas de alternativas existentes y demostradas).
No me dan pena, pero sí me preocupa que con una mano amenacen, pongan juicios, y presionen a políticos y medios, restringiendo nuestros derechos y alimentando a intermediarios parásitos como las suciedades de gestión, y con la otra jueguen a hacer experimentos con la tecnología (que si salen bien los harán “guay” y si salen mal “ya decíamos que la red es un nido de piratas”).
En fin. Deberían leerse el Cluetrain Manifesto, o inlcuso el Hacker Manifesto para empezar.
